my mom's stupid GI hasn't done a CT since 2007 but keeps unsuccessfully trying to stretch her esophagus - I worked in radiology, I told her she probably has a tumor on the OUTSIDE of her esophagus and that's why they don't see it on the 50 million end's they've done (oh, that's A LOT more money than a CT!!!!) I called her dr.'s office and pleaded with them to do a CT a year ago and they just refuse, her CEA continues to elevate, it's just now above normal limits - she could have had a free PET scan when my hospital was testing it's machine and her oncologist refused to order it. The doctor's in this town are so egotistical they endanger people. She's older, set in her ways and I can't convince her to see someone new - the radiologist I used to work with was showing her the stricture, but couldn't say "I think it's cancer" - I'm trying to get her talked into a different state for diagnosis and treatment
